We focus on clients’ strengths and resources, and how these help them to cope with and adapt to stressful life experiences.
We promote prevention by providing treatment and support to individuals experiencing difficult life circumstances, whether or not they are exhibiting mental health challenges.
Family and Community:
We work with clients within their context, and whenever relevant, involve family members, partners, friends, teachers and community members.
We strive to listen, understand and validate our clients and families.
We operate as a team within out clinic, collaborating and consulting with one another regularly. We work with other professionals within the community to provide coordinated, holistic and informed services.
Evidence based practice:
We use treatment approaches with research evidence of their effectiveness. We continue to expand our knowledge of empirically validated treatments, such as CBT, DBT, and ACT, through reading, consultation and continuing education.
We strive to provide effective services, and engage in ongoing program evaluation to ensure that we are meeting our goals.
We aim to respect and learn about our clients’ ethnic, cultural and faith backgrounds so that we can make our treatment culturally relevant.
